A 20 million EUR loan from EBRD to be extended for expansion of Mebelain factory in Belarus

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided a EUR 20 million senior loan to Mebelain, a company of SBA group, to facilitate the expansion of its furniture factory in Belarus. Within two years Mebelain plans to invest EUR 29,3 million into the development of its factory in Belarus, this will ensure a double growth of its production capacity. This is already a second senior loan from the EBRD, previously in 2012 EBRD provided a EUR 5 million senior loan to Mebelain to finance the development of a greenfield veneer-faced furniture production plant in Belarus.

Since 2013 Mebelain furniture factory operates in the free economic zone of Mogilev in Belarus and manufactures carcass furniture from natural wood veneer panels. Production is exported to European countries and Russia.

Primus lawyers advised Mebelain on all issues related to financing deal and represented the company in negotiations with the EBRD. The team was led by partner Giedrė Dailidėnaitė.
